Dear Parents and Caregivers, I really cannot believe how quickly this term has passed.

A 23 strong contingent represented Kaiapoi High School at the Ngā Manu Kōrero National Speech Competitions held in Ngāmotu.

This has been an extremely busy nine weeks so far and the finishing line for Term 3 is in sight.

Year 10 Biotech are currently making cheese with Ms Mawhinney. 

This term's CACTUS group is a small group, but an enthusiastic one!

From the beginning of the year, the team had decided that we would enter the Football tournament, being held in Christchurch this year. 

On Saturday 2nd September the Year 10 Basketball Team took off to Ashburton for the South Island Secondary Schools' Tournament. 

The staging of the 54th Annual South Island Secondary Schools' Netball Championship was held at Hagley Park, from 4th-7th September.

The boys travelled to Dunedin for a demanding eight games in four days with Coach, Allen Dvorak, Manager, Gail Sangster and Teacher-in- charge, Peter McAllister.

9K and 9S travelled to the Boyle River Camp on Monday 7th August.

The Junior Girls' Basketball team is made up of both Years 9 and 10 students – mainly Year 9.

9F and 9G eagerly awaited at the bus bay to head off on an adventure into what was for some, the unknown. 

The 9W and 9R camp was a great success.

9J and 9N were the second group to head on their Year 9 camps to Boyle River this year, leaving on Wednesday morning after a slight delay when waiting for the bus.

On Saturday 5th August a group of Kaiapoi High School students competed against around 180 other high schools around the country in the New Zealand Engineering Science Competition.

On Thursday 23rd August a group of Years 9 and 10 Kaiapoi High School students competed against other high schools around Canterbury in the annual Cantamath Competition. 

This term has seen plenty of involvement from international students with their school sport – Badminton and Basketball in particular. 

We are very proud of our Kaiapoi High School students' sporting achievements in term 3.

The School's production of Oliver, held on 11th & 12th August, was a huge success and a credit to everyone involved.

On Tuesday 8th August a group of 15 students from Kaiapoi High School volunteered to help run the North Canterbury Cantamath Competition.

Our new buildings are becoming very ‘real’. We will have a new computer lab in each building that will house Windows-based machines.
