After careful consideration, following information from the Auckland Emergency Management centre (Civil Defence), a Ministry Of Education briefing and consultation with Mangere Principals' association, the Board of Trustees has decided to close the school. We don’t know yet what the weather will be like, but the safety and wellbeing of our staff, students and community is our number one priority. We fully expect the school to re-open on Wednesday 15th February, but please check our newsletters and bulletins for further updates. Take care.

As announced at yesterday’s press conference with the Prime Minister and Director General of Health, Auckland will move to Alert Level 3, Step 2 tonight at 11.59pm, Tuesday 9th November. This may mean an increased number of parents and caregivers will be required to return to work.

COVID Alert Level 3 reminder for Southern Cross Campus

FROM MONDAY 18TH OCTOBER - School will open at Alert Level 3 for those students under 14 years old and whose parents are essential workers or do not have any one at home to look after their children whilst they are at work. If this applies to your situation, you will need to register your child/ren to attend onsite. All other students will continue with distance learning.

Everyone in in Aotearoa New Zealand aged 12 and over can book their free COVID-19 vaccination now. If you haven't yet vaccinated, take advantage of the local drive through vaccination locations and get vaccinated.

You can now select your subjects for 2022.

Due to the recent lockdown NZQA have updated the credits for all students in NZ.

As one of our Kura under the Mana Kidz Program, we would like to invite any staff/whaanau & extended whaanau to our new temporary Vaccination Site in Manukau. We believe that a number of your staff/whaanau maybe wanting their vaccination before kura reopens. We would like to encourage all our tamariki (12yrs or older/ staff /whaanau and any extended whaanau to come along and get vaccinated.

The Spirit of Adventure empowers young New Zealanders to reach their full potential through the challenge of the sea.

Parents play a crucial role in helping with the organization of school camp. Join us for one of our two available sessions this Thursday 18th March - 2pm or 6pm (School Hall).

Due to the disruptive start to the school year with the lockdowns in place earlier this term, the Education Outside the Classroom field trips initially scheduled for our students in Term 1 has now been postponed to Term 2: 14th-29th June. A revised class schedule will be confirmed in early Term 2, at which time parent volunteers will also be canvassed. We look forward to your support at these events.

The Government’s Ka Ora, Ka Ako | Healthy School Lunches Programme kick-started last week Monday 8th March. Since then, there's been a buzz of excitement around the daily delivery of healthy and nutritious meals to all students across campus. It's been such a delight to see the many smiling faces and conversations shared over the yummy lunches.

With the announcement of Alert Level 1 at midday, Friday 12th March 2021, we are delighted with the quick return to onsite learning and are looking forward to seeing some events come to fruition this term.

Student planners have now been issued to all students and should be coming home Monday-Thursday inside the book bags along with a reader or a book to read.
