What a spectacular community event the Mud Run was! Smiles all round.

The 2023 Stanley Bay School Mud Run was a complete success, lots of smiles, mud and good times were had!

The students of SBS have been helping to raise as much money as possible by selling as many raffle books as they can.

We will be talking about how we teach Literacy to our Years 0-2 students and why we follow a structured literacy approach. We will also be running workshops to model how you can best help your children at home.

Decorate and improve your boat with your own creative genius! Templates will be coming home with your child by the end of the week.

Big congratulations to the years 4 and 5 netball teams who attended the end of season prize giving at Netball North Harbour on Monday night.

Congratulations to Charlie and Maddie who came 1st and 2nd in the Stanley Bay School Speech Finals.

Today we explored the magic of 10, place value and jellies.

After a fun and exciting season, they won the semi final with 14-8 against Willow Park Breeze and then the grand final with 4-2 against CBS Purple (Campbell Bay).

Football season is finishing but the fun doesn't stop during the holidays with our fun football holiday programme. Girls and boys from 4 to 14 are welcome. The week is full of exciting games and tournaments. Our team of highly qualified staff will ensure your kids have a ball in a positive and safe environment

NSU is excited for the upcoming Girls and Boys Football Festivals this week and next. To get the excitement started, we would love to get lots of kids to come along and share in a love of soccer - also great to have social events the kids of Devonport can attend locally.

The Big Band is for Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone and Clarinet players plus Electric Guitar, Piano, Bass and Drums.

Drowning Prevention Auckland has just released a series of water safety programmes for the September school holidays that will run at pools around Auckland.

Takapuna Grammar School is hosting a 24 Hour “Walk Through the Dark” which will be held on Friday 22 September 2.00pm - Saturday 23 September 2.00pm, our last day of term.

We are on the countdown now before the muddy fun begins! And I tell you, this year it’s going to be especially MUDDY!

The year 4 team (photo above) celebrated winning the title at the Junior Netties competition at Westlake girls on Saturday 19 August.

The Auckland Regional Dental Service (ARDS) is a Te Whatu Ora-operated service, which provides free dental care to children across the greater Auckland areas.

On Monday our year 4-6 hockey players participated in a tournament at Vauxhall School.

Rooms 9 and 10 went on a local trip with Restoring Takarunga Trust's Lance around Takarunga and to the Devonport Museum.

The students have been busy creating artwork that can be made into affordable Calendars, Cards, Diaries, Mouse Mats and Sketch Pads. All items are $15 each.

Classes participated in engaging “Maths hunts,” had a delightful week of “Lolly Maths, and invented maths-themed board games, as well as a spectrum of additional enriching activities.

Enrolment at our school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available on the school website.

Recently, cases of head lice have been identified across our junior classes and we wanted to make sure you were kept informed. Whilst lice are nothing more than a nuisance, it is important that children are checked on a weekly basis so that any head lice can be dealt with quickly and before they are allowed to spread. As there has been an outbreak, we suggest that you check your child’s head as soon as possible.

I am writing to introduce myself as the new Junior team-leader.

Cavalier Bremworth have kindly donated three rugs to the school to help with our fundraising for both teacher aides and playground improvements.

Wow - what a fantastic Book Week Stanley Bay! We had fun celebrating books and sharing our love of reading. We look forward to our next Book Week in 2024!

Following last term's local school tournament and for the first time in quite a few years SBS qualified for the Auckland regional Chess Power tournament last week.

Unfortunately, the Takapuna team has had to discontinue their services for our school. This is due to the low number of orders and the high delivery time and cost to Stanley Bay. As a result, the service has been removed from Kindo. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Colds, flu and other respiratory illness are common in schools during winter.

This week is Matariki week at Stanley Bay School. Matariki is a time to come together to remember those who are no longer with us and released their spirits to become stars. It was also a time to be thankful to the gods for the harvest, to feast, and to share the bounty of the harvest with family and friends.

If you live within the home zone and have not yet advised us of your intention to enrol your child or children at our school in 2024/2025, please let us know.

SBS Book week starts from Monday 24th July to Friday 28th July. We have New Zealand authors coming to visit our students to promote the love of reading.

I have been notified that SKIDS will not be continuing their service. I recognise this is not at all ideal for some families and have asked SKIDS to give a few week's notice while we source another company alternative.

The 2023 Mud Run course has 14 obstacles and 9 still require sponsorship.

Each term the school and board review policies. As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing our services and policies.

If you want to register your child/ren for the ICAS online testing, the last day to do this is Monday, the 31st of July.

We were delighted to see the strong turnout for the teacher-parent conferences in the final week of Term 2. Based on your feedback about school reports, we will conduct a comprehensive review in 2024 to improve communication regarding your child's progress throughout the year.

Well done to our Kapa haka that performed at the Matariki Festival . The performance was outstanding.

2024 New Parent Information Evening and Gifted Education Programme Information

We are learning about measuring length in metres and centimetres. We had to cut streamers into lengths of one metre, 50 centimetres, 20 centimetres and 10 centimetres.

The team had a successful season with 3 grading games followed by 9 competition games (4 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw!)

Fantails is a programme to attract 4–12 years old girls to the beautiful game of soccer.

In conjunction with The Devonport Community House, we would like to invite students from Stanley Bay School to our Robotics classes starting next week.
