On Thursday 23 February we held our whole school swimming carnival where students entered races and competed against each other. It was a great day where we saw a record of competitors enter the races!

It has been a great start to the 2023 school year and our new year 7 students have all settled in well.

This year's school captains Holly and James, have given us an update on their new roles so far and what projects they will be working on over the next several months.

Our SRC leaders did a fantastic job implementing of our school's new policy.

What a great attitude to start a new school year

Since arrival, Year 7 has shown a natural aptitude for the organisation, routines, and culture at Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design (DHSVAD). It is an honour to be their year advisor and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting acquainted with the students’ individualities.

On Wednesday 8 February, Years 10, 11 and 12 Drama students attended the Onstage HSC showcase at the Seymour Centre. The performance showcased the strongest HSC major works from the subject from across the state.

It’s been an incredible start to the year, with Year 12s turning out for each other in droves. The class of 2023 has certainly taken the call to the side quest challenge and are earning points for their engagement in extracurricular activities.

Following a very successful planning day at the end of last year, the DHSVAD Student Representative Council has gotten off to a flying start in 2023!

The Mathematics faculty is dedicated to making the study of Mathematics a relevant and engaging experience for all students. Here is an update regarding all things Mathematics at DHSVAD.

This year's Bligh zone swimming carnival was held on Monday of week 6, and Dulwich High School made a strong showing with 33 competitors (the 3rd largest attendance from the eight schools competing on the day).

Our Year 12 students recently ran a successful Bake Sale on Friday 10 February, to raise money for their Year Book, which they are designing themselves.

This term senior students from Dulwich had the opportunity to participate in a girls' or boys' soccer gala day against schools from across the Bligh Zone.

The first Performance Appreciation Club Excursion for the year was attended by Year 11 and 12. Students went to see Blessed Union as part of Sydney World Pride.

This amazing program helps 13 – 17 year olds live well by forming healthy eating and physical activity habits.

This term year 10 PASS (Physical Activity and Sport Studies) students had the opportunity to experience a gymnastics training session hosted by BK's Gymnastics in Marrickville.

The HSIE faculty are excited to be back for what will be another year of insightful learning across the histories and social sciences.

It’s been a wonderful return to school for the Support Unit; students are learning about a variety of exciting topics such as Aboriginal Seasons and Safety in the Community while also doing incredible work in our Wellbeing sensory garden.

Year 10 student Zeca was recently presented with a Premier's Reading Challenge Medal in honour of his excellent achievement.
