Summer Tournament Week this year fell on the one-year anniversary of New Zealand’s Level 4 lockdown commencement. Therefore, as a retrospective, we are absolutely delighted to re-present the Summer Tournament Week Diary, as it happened, from Term 1 this year.

The 2021 tennis season has been a success for HBHS with a large number of students being involved in the tennis code at HBHS. With numbers growing substantially over the last few years, this year has proved no different, which makes a great statement that tennis at HBHS is continuing to rise and will continue to grow over the years to come.

Following last season missing out on the Nationals due to COVID, the HBHS Senior Squad was eager to establish itself as a top 4 team.

Starting the year with a record six senior teams saw our school awarded a commendation award from Volleyball Waikato for our efforts in growing the game for our region. It didn’t stop there with more and more students getting involved in social or competitive competitions.

Despite COVID’s myriad efforts to throw a wrench in our plans, the Leo Club saw another successful year in 2021.
