Bel Canto achieved great success at The Big Sing Finale in Auckland, winning a Gold award.

Johnny Lawrey, Devin Lin and Shane Miro win the Canterbury Schools Programming Contest at the University of Canterbury.

As we get ready to farewell our Winter Sports teams as they prepare to head off on their NZ Secondary Schools' (NZSS) Winter Tournament Week (Mon 28 Aug - Fri 01 Sep) adventures, we would like to congratulate some of our other teams and individuals on some outstanding sporting performances in Swimming, Squash and Snowboarding.

We have some highly innovative and sustainable groups that are completing the final parts of their Business Plan and Annual Review leading up to the closing date for the regional finals for the Young Enterprise Competition.

The Burnside High School Ice Hockey Team has had a very successful year with students winning various awards for the season.

Christian settled quickly and became fully involved in school life, joining the tennis team in term 1 and representing the school at the Canterbury Secondary School's senior tennis tournament.

Burnside High School is very proud of the students who excel in Mathematics.

Burnside High School have an active group who participate in these events. This term we had Model NZ Parliament, Model European Union and NZ Model United Nations.

During August, we ran the school tennis champs here at BHS, on the lower courts.

On September the 14th, two year teams from Burnside High School were successful in winning the annual German ‘OSKAR’ competition held amongst the Canterbury schools.

Burnside High school had a large team compete in the Christchurch Round of the World Scholars Cup.

The New Zealand Secondary Schools (NZSS) Winter Tournament Week took place from Monday 28 August - Friday 01 September in various locations throughout New Zealand.

This term the Environment Group developed our own trap line in Te Uru as we aim to eradicate rats from our forest.

The Canterbury Game Jam Next recently concluded with resounding success, bringing together 40 talented high school students for an immersive experience in game development.

In August our Academy teams and BHS soloists took on the Christchurch Regional DNZM Champs. It was a massive week with yet again, some impressive and outstanding outcomes.

The much-anticipated end-of-course Game Jam for our Game Design Courses has come to an exhilarating close, leaving us all in awe of the incredible talents displayed by our budding game developers.
