Tuesday 21st - Friday 24th July

On Friday 31 July we will be holding a plastic toy swap in the hall. Over the holidays students can clear out any unwanted toys, bring them to school and swap them for another toy. This stops plastic toys from ending up in the rubbish dump where they won't break down.

Monday 22nd- Friday 26th June

It has been an exciting week for us as we compete in the Virtual International Community Problem Solving Competition being hosted in Massachusetts, USA. In the photos below you can see us taking part in the opening ceremony. During the week we have interacted with the virtual platform where we have been able to watch presentations and projects from around the world. We did not get a place at the awards presentation today but our video about our project was highly commended.

We are fortunate to have School Based Mental Health Services coming in on the 22nd October at 6pm to speak to our parents and anyone else who might have an interest in the subject of anxiety in children. They will be speaking about what anxiety is and how to recognise it in children and then, the most important part, what can be done about it. Some practical, hands-on ideas to make everyone feel better.

At Oaklands, we are lucky to have over 100 ESOL students who receive extra support in the classroom.

Keeping Ourselves Safe enables children and young people to learn and apply a range of safety skills that they can use when interacting with others. Students learn to recognize the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, and those who have been or are being abused are encouraged to seek help.
