Visit this articleThis year we introduced a Flash Fiction task to our NCEA English classes to get the courses off to a flying start. Students had to comply with a set of rules: the piece could not be more than 350 words, it had to begin with a question and end with a two-word sentence. Three key words also had to be integrated and there had to be a twist at the end. It was a fun exercise with some excellent writing coming through. Sahil Hira was named the Winner, with Tyler Curtis, Seth Davis and Liam Weston acknowledged as Highly Commended. Below is Sahil's story.
