Visit this articleThis magazine is the first that runs without a "paper-copy" alongside. Some are feeling quirky or lost about the lack of an actual magazine to hide on the shelf or put the coffee cup on top of ... still times are such that the written text is now more often experienced in sound-bytes or video. I talk to people of STUFF news and ask when they last read the paper copy. News and magazines are often via the phone or laptop and now we join this medium with developing creativity.
Life is now very visual and news and articles are often read on the run and via different media and apps. This has then become a challenge for the archivist to struggle with as far as recording memories and in this case a year in the life of a school. I say to those dissenters of the "new magazine" that to return to your son's school year and see them come to life in a video or hear them talk about their under 15 rugby successes etc etc ... this will transport the reader/viewer to 2016 when your son was a hairy-legged lad in school shorts.
Be ready to be able to access this magazine whereever you may be. As long as you have an internet connection this and past magazines will be just a "click-away".
Enjoy trolling the "pages" of 2016 and copy files or photos at your leisure. Laugh with the videos created by staff and students. Enjoy the interviews, relive the actual moments of different Bruce Challenges and explore new and old buildings of St Thomas.
I have enjoyed creating and compiling this magazine and am sure you will too.
Cheers Brendan Biggs

Hamish Johnson from Apollo was an excellent host and had great advice for these future builders and carpenters. They were the first students to see the complex prior to its finish in mid-November. No photos of the gym were taken to keep it all under wraps and off social-media until it's finished. The impression on the lads was one of awe as they saw the sheer size of the building. Luckily they have one more year to go and so will be able to enjoy all the facility has to offer them. Then its "off to work they go"...
